The simple ability to reach is the central idea behind a new business venture of Somerset West businessman Richard McArthur and his fellow investors. Spotless Window is an outside window cleaning service for buildings up to five storeys high - and it’s all done using high reach water-fed poles. There’s no abseiling or ladders involved.

The company’s reach however, doesn’t only apply to its equipment. Part of the Spotless Group, which incorporates a property inspection company, Spotless Window has stretched itself across South Africa in the short period it has been in operation.

Spotless Window uses specially treated water to ensure there is no dirt or chemicals in the water, which is transported to each site in its vehicles. Each van has only one operator, “and all our operators are security screened,” McArthur says.

Also, no static is left on the windows, which means windows stay cleaner for longer, according to McArthur. Spotless Window provides its service to commercial and residential properties.
