Chch Man attacked, robbed in early hours

Police said the man was attacked by three men, who had held a knife to the mans throat, punched him, then stole money and his cell phone.
Canterbury CIB detective Jeremy Gunn said the attack happened on Latimer Square near Gloucester Street at 2am this morning.
The man had been sitting in the drivers seat of his silver Mitsubishi Cordia car when he had been approached by three males.
Mr Gunn said one of offenders had punched the victim through the drivers window and had then held a knife to the victims throat.
Another man then got in to the victims car, punched him and stole his money and cell phone.
A third man had then punched him again through the window.
He said the victim had not needed medical treatment, but did have small cuts and bruising to his face.
Mr Gunn said the man had described his attackers as Maori or Pacific Islanders and all of heavy build.
One of the attackers had been wearing a poncho type garment, was clean shaven and had short black hair.
Another man had been wearing a red and white stripped football top and was clean shaven.
The victim said the man carrying the knife - an orange handled boning knife - had been in his 30s and had short black hair.
Police are appealing for information.
