John Tassinari, 29, called to report the shooting , telling police “his wife had been cheating on him and he shot her more than 12 times,” Assistant District Attorney Shelby Smith said during his arraignment in Brockton District Court.

Barbara Tassinari, 29, was found face down in the driveway of the couple’s home with 12 gunshot wounds, Smith said.

John Tassinari was arrested after neighbors who heard gunshots called police. He was ordered held without bail Wednesday.

Abington Police Chief David Majenski said Tassinari used two guns, a .45-caliber and a .40-caliber. He was issued a firearms permit in 2004, and more guns were found in the home, Majenski said.

Police said they had not been called to the couple’s home for reports of domestic violence before .

Tassinari’s , William F. Sullivan, declined to comment on the jealousy motive outlined by prosecutors.
