As this video explains, one factor in the disappearance of birds could be due to the decrease in their natural habitat due to urban sprawl. However, what the video fails to realize is that since 1984 there has been a literal explosion in cell phones and information carrying radio waves, which can clearly disrupt the delicate biological mechanisms of birds.

What is not at dispute is that the birds ARE disappearing. This is a MAJOR clue that we are also threatening the human species. Birds are modern day canaries in the coal mine that are early warning indicators of environmental problems that will ultimately be threatening to us.
