Support traffic from Home Depot
posted by admin in Home DepotI am once again amazed at the direction of the Barre leadership. First, the weathervane issue divided the city, home depot and then they can’t decide which water agreement to honor.
Now they think it’s a good idea to get involved in the Home Depot project because it may cause too much traffic! While most economically challenged communities would welcome more possible patrons to their stores, Barre thinks it’s a bad idea. Maybe the municipal workers can cut down all the maple trees so the tourists won’t bother with us, either.
Perhaps if the city worked on a traffic plan it would be more of a help. A traffic light and left turn lanes would help at Berlin and North Main streets. There is an empty lot there now.
Either way, we ought to welcome the traffic and potential customers to our shops and restaurants. This may also bring a business or two to our empty storefronts. We ought to think positively, not negatively about this opportunity, home depot depot or am I “out of order,” Mr. Mayor?
