Latest Product Recalls

The following recalls have been announced:

-About 11,400 Soldier Bear toys, imported by the Army %26 Air Force Exchange Service, because surface paints on the toys contain high levels of lead, which is toxic if ingested by young children. No injuries have been reported. The recalled toys are: the wooden Pull-Along Learning Blocks wagon, the Time Teacher, a wooden riding horse and a vehicle play set. The toys were sold at AAFES around the world between August 2006 and October 2007. Details: by phone at 800-866-3605; by Web at http://www.AAFES.com or http://www.cpsc.gov.

-About 167,000 walk-behind lawn mowers, manufactured in the United States by American Motor Corp., because the cutting blades could rotate when the control lever is released, posing a laceration hazard. No injuries have been reported. The recall involves mowers with model numbers HRB217HXA, HRX217HXA and HRX217HMA. They were sold by lawn and garden dealers and at around the country between January 2003 and November 2007.
