J.V. Price Ltd really put to the test this time! With only 1 days notice and 8 days to complete JVP had to pull out all the stops. JVP had been asked by UK Cleaning Services to carry out a full internal and external glazing clean to the superstore, the glazing had not been cleaned for over 8 years and we where going to have to clean it during a store re-fit. This required a tremendous all round effort from all the JVP Operations Team, Staff and Managers who often had to be on site until the early hours to make sure it was completed.

The enquiry came at such short notice because another contractor had been unable to carry out the work to a high standard required. Having our own access equipment made it possible as we did not have to arrange site visits and surveys from an access hire company. The Brontoï¿½s really came into there own using all there specialist features at one time or another.

This was a real test of JVP’s capabilities not only to ensure that the cleaning was of the highest standards under very testing conditions, but also to liaise with the many contractors on site to make certain each stage was completed on time and on budget as this meant the contract running over schedule and that was not an option.

As the job went on more and more work was asked from us as the main contractor saw the results we could offer, these included the supply of specialist access equipment for other contractors on site, cladding restoration, high level vacuuming and pressure washing to the car park and path areas to the front of the store for the Grand Re-opening.

To say that the job didn’t go without an occasional hitch or two was an understatement as you would expect from a massive undertaking of this kind. There were hundreds of contractors on site using different types of equipment and machinery with very limited space which meant that due to JVPï¿½s strict Health and Safety regulations we couldn’t always be where we wanted to be.

But Rest assured we completed with a few hours to spare and as a result the client was over the moon. As we all made our way back to the vehicles I don’t think any of us had a real chance to stand back and look at what we had achieved, the Transformation was Amazing!
