THIS is a 17th-century English country cottage in an idyllic setting approximately two miles south of Carlisle.

The (23ft 6in x 13ft 3in has exposed beams, a red sandstone fireplace with a quarry tiled hearth, and built-in bookshelves and cupboard.

The front bay (11ft x 5ft 6in) is an extension built out into the garden and has traditional sash style windows and a door leading out into the front garden which has a lawn, well-stocked beds and borders, shrubs and trees including a willow and a tulip tree.

The well fitted kitchen (12ft 6in x 7ft 10in) has pine units and extensive marbled work surfaces.

Adjoining the kitchen is a dining area (7ft 10in x 7ft 10in) with a quarry-tiled floor.

There is also a rear sun lounge which leads to a small graveled area, and a utility room with a Belfast sink, for a washing machine and space for a deep freezer.

Upstairs are two double bedrooms, both with an exposed tie beam and built-in wardrobes; a rear single bedroom with a dormer window; and a bathroom fitted with a white suite.
