Teen dies in house called ‘abomination’
posted by admin in Air Duct CleaningA teenager died in a home characterized by state police as an “abomination.” The teen’s mother denies the characterization the home is not a suitable place for children.
Spiro Anderson, 14, was found dead by his mom, Christina Michelle Anderson earlier this week in the family’s Muskegon County home. State police tell 24 Hour News 8 the teen may have died of prescription drug overdose. Christina admitted her son had a previous run-in with prescription drugs.
An autopsy showed no obvious injuries to the teen. Police are now waiting for toxicology results.
Investigators say there was a new bottle of Vicodin in a dresser drawer and Methadone in a jewelry box in a child’s room in the house.
Christina Anderson called 24 Hour News 8 to refute some of the information police provided. She says her son had stolen pills from her roommate at one time, but not from her. She also said she confronted her son and made sure she and her roommate kept their pills locked up thereafter.
After the teen’s death earlier this week, Anderson’s daughter found Methadone pills that Spiro had apparently hidden in a jewelry box in her room. Anderson tells us she thought her son had stopped using drugs.
Anderson also says her home is not an “abomination” as investigators had described. She says piles of clean clothes that were strewn throughout her living room to be sorted may have made her home look messy.
She has four other children.
24 Hour News 8 will continue to track developments in this case and bring them to you on-air and online.
